- Noviscan integration
- Easy (local RTSP/ONVIF)
The world's #2 camera manufacturer's own (installer/professional) line — mature local RTSP/ONVIF matching Noviscan's architecture exactly, but with a repeated history of critical vulnerabilities and a US federal ban. Not benchmarked on our bench.
Strengths
- Mature, well-documented local RTSP/ONVIF/NVR on 964+ models — technically the cleanest integration of any brand we cover.
- P2P (Easy4IP) is only an optional NAT-traversal layer; devices record locally and can be reached purely via LAN/RTSP with it disabled — though see the P2P caveat below.
Limitations
- Repeated critical unauthenticated RCE / auth-bypass history through 2025 (CVE-2021-33044/33045 CVSS 9.8; CVE-2025-31700/31701 CVSS 8.1) — never expose to the Internet, isolate on a VLAN.
- 'Operation CameraSwarm' (independent research reported August 2026): 14,500+ Dahua devices compromised between June 17 and July 22, 2026, mostly via weak/default passwords, plus ~1,900 via the already-disclosed CVE-2021-33044/33045 auth bypass, and 283 through the P2P (Easy4IP) relay path itself — Dahua confirmed the findings and pointed to its 2021 advisories; the P2P layer is not purely inert even if it is optional.
- US NDAA §889 federal procurement ban and FCC Covered List restriction, upheld on appeal (April 2024).
- Facial recognition exists only on enterprise-tier SKUs (e.g. 10,000-face database models) aimed at businesses/airports — not on any DIY-facing model.
- This is a professional/installer channel, not a consumer brand — most homeowners encounter Dahua's tech via Imou (already covered separately), not this line directly.
