Open-architecture Windows VMS with a genuinely usable free tier (16 channels, no time limit) and open protocols (ONVIF/RTSP/MQTT). Not yet benchmarked on our test bench.
Strengths
- Free EVO S tier up to 16 channels with no time limit — one of the few genuinely free options at this tier.
- Open protocols (ONVIF, RTSP, HTTP, WebSocket, MQTT) across 4,000+ camera models — no lock-in.
Limitations
- Windows-only server; encryption of stored footage at rest is not documented (unverified).
- Facial recognition (Luxriot Vero) and LPR are separate purchasable modules, not included free.
