Premium Google brand; no true local stream — access is via the cloud SDM API (WebRTC-only on newer cameras). A strategic new integration family. Not benchmarked on our bench.

Strengths

Documented cloud SDM API (consumed by Home Assistant/Frigate/go2rtc).
'Familiar Faces' facial recognition (Google Home Premium).

Limitations

Mandatory Google account + one-time $5 Device Access fee; all streaming brokered by Google's cloud.
Newer cameras are WebRTC-only; no local recording; the local 'Works with Nest' API was killed in 2019.
